After his mentee, Bubbles, dies in a trick-gone-wrong, park-clown Honky B. Honky delivers a bitter eulogy that recounts memories of how their relationship changed from fondness and pride to resentment and jealousy. At the end of the eulogy, a weeping Honky concludes that Bubbles was the only one who understood him most. As he saunters away from the podium, clowns start bursting out from inside the casket in clown-car fashion; Bubbles emerges at last from the casket—executing his “greatest trick of a lifetime” to restore his friendship with Honky. |
