Born and raised in Southeast San Diego, California,
Luke Lace Lacasa is a second-generation Filipino American filmmaker exploring themes of family, hustle, and identity while celebrating underrepresented voices and ethnic vibrancy. He lives with his partner in Los Angeles, California, where he works as a Teaching Associate at UCLA while freelance directing. His latest film, Fidel, is premiering at the 27th Asian American Showcase in Chicago, IL. His film Babygirl (2019) premiered at the inaugural San Diego Filipino Film Festival. He is the inaugural recipient of the Atiba Jefferson Film and Photo Scholarship through the College Skateboarding Educational Foundation (2023). He is currently editing his next short film Grifting in Circles, a comedy about a craigslist hustler trying to get his first car set in Southeast San Diego. |
