Hiya

Directed by Naomi Christie
A shy girl gains confidence through the reimagination of her own religion by becoming the figures she prays to in an unlikely way.

Naomi Christie is a Vietnamese-American Los Angeles based director, writer, and photographer. She began her career in fashion photography and music videos. In 2021, she went on to study narrative filmmaking and earned her MFA in directing at the American Film Institute (AFI). Her thesis film earned her a DGA award for Best Director in the Asian American category.Naomi enjoys creating emotive imagery and mixed-genre narratives. Her work often portrays sensuality with the female gaze. Unafraid to delve into the provocative, she enjoys juxtaposing humor and darkness and subverting genre expectations. She’s always up for a strong cup of coffee or buttery croissant and a chat about the latest in cinema.
