San-San Onglatco is a Los Angeles based Filipinx-Chinese filmmaker who grew up in the Philippines. She is a 2021 Sundance Uprise Grantee and a 2022 Film Independent Project Involve Directing Fellow. After over a decade working in the industry as producer and line producer, she decided to focus on directing. She graduated with an MFA from the AFI Conservatory’s Directing Program. Also a writer, she holds a Certificate in Screenwriting from UCLA. In 2007, she graduated from the prestigious Ateneo de Manila University with a B.A. in Literature (English).Onglatco is an advocate for amplifying underrepresented voices both in front and behind the camera. She gravitates towards stories about the human connection within a sociopolitical context, with an emphasis on the immigrant experience and the Filipino/a/x diaspora. |
