Jonathan De Guzman II is a Filipino American, award-winning director/writer from San Diego, currently living in Los Angeles. He graduated from UC Irvine’s undergraduate film program, where he wrote and directed The Perfect Post. This short received best picture and best screenplay at UC Irvine’s film festival; and went on to screen at the 44th Asian American International Film Festival, San Diego Filipino Film Festival, and many more. The Perfect Post also streamed on MYX TV under the SDFFF shorts program. Gifts Are My Love Language serves as his second short film. Inspired by Gen Z culture and his AAPI community, Jonathan aims to tell comedic and witty stories that spotlight cool and relatable AAPI individuals.
