Can We Play

Based on Emerson’s real life experience in preschool. Emmy and Ryder are best friends and love to play. However what they play is often up to debate with Ryder usually winning. That is… until Emmy makes an ultimatum.

Emerson Basco, 12 year old director.

Emerson Basco started her acting career at the tender age of 2 in a GAP ad. Since then Emerson has acted in over 20 commercials.

Over the pandemic Emerson directed 10 spec commercials on her iphone.

CAN WE PLAY is her first short feature. She wrote, directed and produced it at the age of 11! She did have the help of some amazing people including Andrea A Walter and Bianca Catbagan (DP’s), Irene Chun (editor), Denise Santos (music composer) and her mentor Marie Jamora.

Emerson also is an accomplished bass player and photographer who loves to sing.
