About SDFFF

The Festival

The latest and most anticipated installment of San Diego Filipino Cinema’s year-long programming, the San Diego Filipino Film Festival (SDFFF), debuts this fall, October 14-19, 2021. Held during October’s Filipino American History Month, SDFC’s inaugural film festival is the organization’s centerpiece event that aims to raise awareness for Filipinx cinema as an important art form and a powerful tool for representation, education, and entertainment.

SDFFF’s 2021 festival experience will span across San Diego County. From the newly transformed Mingei International Museum in the heart of Balboa Park to the AMC 12 Otay Ranch Town Center, SDFFF will bring San Diego communities together to celebrate diversity, culture and heritage through cinema with a diverse mix of narrative features, documentaries and short films.

Filmmersion Presented by KPBS

SDFFF will have virtual filmmaking workshops and discussions via our Filmmersion program made available throughout the duration of the festival.

Virtual Film Market

At the heart of our festival mission is to provide a platform for filmmakers that will open opportunities for a sustainable film career. SDFFF Virtual Film Market aims to provide a space for film buyers, distributors, filmmakers, and fest all-access pass holders to watch films and potentially collaborate. All festival submissions, regardless whether they get selected in the festival or not, will be eligible to be part of the market.
