Cha Roque (she/her) is a mother, an out and proud lesbian, filmmaker, and LGBTQ rights advocate. Most of Cha’s films deal with issues on human rights and LGBTQ rights. She believes in the power of film in collective remembering, reclaiming histories, and fighting for equality. Cha is a fellow of the Salzburg Global LGBT Forum, the International Queer and Migrant Film Academy Amsterdam, the Ricky Lee Scriptwriting workshop, and TBA Studios’ Writers’ Room. She was awarded the Art that Matters for Film Award by Amnesty International Philippines in 2018.
