A Filipino family grapples with the grave consequences of a domestic abuse incident, forcing two sisters named Tala and Hanan to clash over their father’s flaws. Finding themselves in a situation where all they have is each other, they must reckon with what happened for the sake of their sisterly bond.
Born and raised on the island of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, Justin Ocampo is the son of Tagalog & Kapampangan immigrants. His directorial debut film, ”We Drank Our Tears: Rafael Mafnas’ Story” won Best of Festival at the Guam International Film Festival in 2018, was featured at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival that same year, and is available for rent on Amazon Prime. Now a junior double majoring in Digital Cinema and American Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, Justin is excited to tell a more personal story with Tala, which is based off his own family and upbringing.
