MALINDI ASUNCION KINDRACHUK is a Canadian filmmaker of Filipino and Ukrainian heritage currently based in Montreal, Canada. She is a graduate of the MA Screenwriting program at The London Film School 2020.

Malindi’s graduating screenplay THE GARDEN went on to be nominated for Best Screeplay at the Mallorca International Film Festival 2021. Her scripts have placed in competitions such as the Golden Screenplay Competition and Shore Scripts TV Pilot Competition. Malindi was also a winner of UKTV x Comedy5050 Female Comedy Writers Initiative of 2021 with her comedy pilot WHY NOT US?

Her projects as a director include short experimental performance film KAPATID, commissioned by Maharlika UK Filipino Artists with the support of Arts Council England, which premiered at Binisaya World Film Festival 2023. Her short documentary I THINK GOD LIVES IN EASTBOURNE premieres March 30th 2025 at the Eastbourne International Film Festival and is currently on its festival run.

Her latest project is narrative short film ABSOLVED produced by Hydrangea Films with funding from the Canada Council for the Arts. The film has just been completed and is currently on its festival run.
Malindi’s interests as a filmmaker lie in the spaces where cultures cross paths and merge, in relationships and relationality, and in the humour that can be found in life’s absurdity.
